Assalaam u alaikum.kindly advise list of all blood tests for a severe acute depression patient.whats the name of that brain chemical(harmone) whose deficiency or excess causes severe depression and uncontrollable abnormal behavior in women patients. Also some people say that such females can never get fully cured and their behavior can never be normal rather they must use medicines all life long to remain somewhat controlled... What about daughters born by such mother's.shall they also get regularly checked and tested ...

aoa.usually severe depression is only manageable by medicines and if mild then psychotherapy may give benefits. there are many neurotransmitters (chemicals in brain) that are disturbed in depression but more important of them is serotonin.There are many medical clauses of depressive presentation also.Depression is usually diagnosed by examining the mental state and taking history of patient.
