my question is from psychiatrist i have ibs symptoms which improve when i take mood stabliser or any antidepressant but problem is psychiatrist prescribed lamictal 25mg for 2 weeks it worked well then after month it started producing agression brain fog,i dont want to try other mood stablisers all are notorious for weight gain and antidepressants trigger mania in me if i take them. kindly suggest something that don't cause mania releive my anxiety no weight gain and aggression as side effect.i was bipolar recovered and i used to take lamictal in past neither felt any side effects but these day it feels awful.
First of all it very important to establish ibs you have is diarrhoea predominant or constipation predominant. You need full psychiatric assessment. Detailed history is mandatory. And remember this one tip for your ibs that, “avoid hurry, worry & curry. Do cardio exercises.
I think you may consult your treating psychiatrist to assess stage of Bipolar Affective Disorder. Lamictal is best choice in Bipolar Affective Disorder specifically for prevention of next episode. You need dose manage too.

for how long you're IBS patient and taking lamictal? it's curable ,there are medicines which are used for it and they also don't cause mania

all your reply is readable but the tip you wrote for me is misspelled and some signs and marks are visible so its not readable here. can u retype it by using different words most replies here in marham have these ambiguous signs when doctor type it here it is not readable
