Mild dilated veins (varicocoele) is present on left side at superior pole measuring 1.7mm on resting condition & 2.1mm during valsalva maneure with positive reflux on color doppler. does this needs surgery and also this impacts the sperm quality or not ?
I suggest to first physical consult by an experienced urologist in your town. You mentioned it is mild, Studies states a significant cause of male infertility, potentially leading to low sperm count (oligospermia) or poor movement (asthenospermia). Surgical repair (varicocelectomy) can improve semen quality if found effected. You can select urologist from the list available on Marham.com
This report suggests a mild (Grade I) left sided varicocele.Surgery is not routinely required in mild cases unless there is Infertility with abnormal semen analysis or Persistent or significant testicular pain .A mild varicocele does not always affect sperm quality. Its impact, if any, is best assessed with a semen analysis, not Doppler size alone. If asymptomatic, observation is sufficient. If fertility is a concern, proceed with a semen analysis and urology follow up.
Varicocele can be treated with our method of medicinal treatment without surgery.
