Talk to Psychologist on Antisocial Behavior

Asking for Self, Male, 19 years old, Islamabad

Aoa. I'm 19 years old. I was always antisocial through my childhood. Never had friends. Felt like an outcast. Now I'm in University and again feel alienated. I can't socialize with my peer. I fell like that everywhere I go. Sometimes I feel autistic. I don't have the money to go to a psychotherapist regularly. I wanted to to know if this was treatable and how long would it take to get better?

From what I'm hearing is you have standards. The only reason you feel like an outcast is because the people around you may not have the same standard of hobbies or perhaps are not as passionate about things as you are.

Since you have not given many details, I can't comment on anything for sure, but you don't seem Autistic at all.

I felt like an outcast all through school and college because I could only speak in English, and at that time, no one else did and hence called me proud or someone with ego. I had neither of those, but outcast I was.

I think if you can maintain eye contact with at least 10 people and say "hello, how's your day going" with sincerity, you may realise that those who wish to speak will talk to you.

There is nothing wrong with you from what I can tell about the issue you have posted. Just study well and land yourself a good job. Friends are important, but you actually just need one good human connection.
