Asking for Self, Female, 28 years old, Karachi
I am going through depression and severe anxiety in pregnancy second trimester where I couldn't sleep, couldn't eat and kept crying all day.
The psychiatrist put me on 25mg of Zoloft on 8 Dec and then 50 mg on 18 Dec. Now overall it's been nearly 5 weeks. I am feeling better but still some days are very rough. Even if I'm feeling normal, all of a sudden anxiety will hit like a hammer. The worst is mornings when I wake up. Anxiety stays for good 1-2 hours. Should I give more time to Zoloft? Im not in favour of increasing dose because of pregnancy.
I started therapy also but feeling very exhausted with everything because some days I'm ok but some days it's really bad I can't do anything I can't be happy.
Anyone in the community, psychiatrist, psychologist please comment on what should be done.

Dear please don't stop taking counselling and therapy sessions. if this is your 1st pregnancy then you are going through peripartum depression. practice deep breathing exercises to reduce anxiety and strictly follow the doctor's instructions regarding Zoloft.

No you shouldn’t increase your medicine ... I recommend you to find out the core reason behind what you are saying anxiety .. you can book an appointment session with me and I ll try to help u out in getting out of this situation InshaAllah :)
Sadness is also a normal emotion, it becomes disturbing when stays for longer periods of time. In pregnancy, anxiety is expected. But if its severe to the extent thst you are unable to continue with day to day activities, its important to see a Psychologist ASAP. You can overcome it with the help of psychotherapy for sure alongwith medicine . Just take an appointment for further consultation
Is it your first pregnancy? Is your family supportive? Other medicines that you are taking? Any thyroid issue?Some of the questions need response that will help me understand the problem clearly.

Therapy kaisi krwai gayi ye depend krta ha, exhausting nhi ho skti hamesha relaxed krti ha. Well, mera opinion ye ha k pregnancy me medicine is not safe for fetus. So start therapy, try another clinical psychologist. Visit me at 13b aibak block garden town lahore or book only one online session, you will feel good insha allah

Dear, what I understand is that there is something which is bothering you which perhaps your are also not able to point out. Therapy is extremely beneficial in your case. Take out time for yourself and explore the disturbance so root cause can be eliminated . I am in karachi. Do book an appointment through marham and visit my clinic.please don’t take too much burden of things. This is a golden time which you can enjoy with your husband and self.
you need relaxation training. Medicines in pregnancy are not good for your fetus. you can go for a good psychologist how have well practiced in his/ her field.
