Mild Early Sacroiliitis

What is Sacroiliitis?

Sacroiliitis means inflammation in the sacroiliac joints, which are the joints connecting your spine to your pelvic bones.

What the MRI Found:

On the right side, there is mild inflammation on the iliac bone side of the sacroiliac joint.

On the left side, there is mild inflammation on the sacral bone side of the joint.

No swelling, no mass, no fluid, and no bone damage.

Joint spaces are normal and both joints look symmetric.

What this means:

This is a very early or mild form of sacroiliitis, not severe.

Possible Causes:

A previous fall (as mentioned in the report).

Strain or overuse.

Inflammatory conditions like early ankylosing spondylitis (not confirmed).

Poor posture or repeated heavy work.

Is it serious?

No, it is mild and treatable if managed early.

Common Symptoms:

Lower back pain

Pain in hips or buttock area

Pain after long standing, walking, or bending

Rule out inflammatory causes of Sacroiliac pain, as you mentioned.
Do ESR, CRP and HLA- B27 .
Local steroid injection in the affected joint can be considered if pain not settling down with pain killers and physiotherapy
