Asking for Self, Female, 26 years old, lahore
Hi, I’m getting married in two weeks and I have a lot on my mind. I’m honestly happy and enjoying the whole process, but I’ve been struggling a lot with sleep. I’m awake till 4–5 am, and even during the day I can’t sleep, yet I still wake up feeling fresh. I’m really concerned that this lack of sleep might affect my big events. I’ve already tried therapy and spoken to a psychologist, but nothing has helped me sleep properly. Can you guide me on whether I should consider taking something for sleep, or suggest anything that might help me manage this better?
There are some therapies and techniques to improve your sleep, if you want than please book your appointment with me.
It is completely normal to have sleep issues before a big life event like marriage. Your mind is overstimulated, even if you feel happy , that is why you stay awake till 4 to 5 am.Try these first: Avoid screens 1 hour before bed.No naps in the day.Limit tea/coffee after evening.Take a warm shower and lie down only when sleepy. If this still continues, you can use short-term sleep aid like melatonin or a low dose medicine clonazepam 0.25 mg for a few days , but only after a consultation with a psychiatrist. It is temporary and very treatable. You are never alone
Dr usman has explained it perfectly in comments, you can try melatonin 2 mg at 9 pm for sleep but if it fails you should book a consultation for any underlying issue and proper treatment plan.

congratulations on your marriage. It is so good to know that you are looking forward to the big event and are so excited. To keep yourself full of energy on your wedding, you'll have to conserve some now. The good news is that it seems more like excitement than anxiety.
Journal all your feelings at times that you may feel any shift in your emotions. That'll lead you to identify the main focus of attention. Sit comfortably with eyes closed. Imagine a peaceful scene, maybe a calm seashore or silence near the mountains. Deep breath 5 to 10 times and tell yourself that you are in control. Look up PMR exercise from YouTube and perform that exercise when you lie down on bed at night to sleep.
Hopefully, you'll be able to manage your emotions and calm your nervous system. Medicine come last. All the best!
