In some patients, CyberKnife may be used together with other treatments to shrink the tumor, control growth, relieve symptoms, or improve local control. Whether it is suitable depends on several factors, including: * How much of the portal vein is involved. * The size and number of liver tumors. * How well the liver is functioning. * Whether the cancer has spread outside the liver. * Your father’s overall health.
