Septran DS Tablet Uses

Septran DS Tablet uses include the treatment of bacterial infections by stopping the growth and multiplication of bacteria. It works by blocking essential steps in bacterial folic acid synthesis, which is required for DNA formation. This medicine is commonly prescribed for urinary tract infections, respiratory infections, gastrointestinal infections, and ear infections, and should be used only for confirmed or suspected bacterial infections as advised by a doctor.

Your doctor might give you Septran DS Tablet for:

• Urinary tract infections
• Bronchitis
• Traveller’s diarrhoea
• Shigellosis
• Ear infections
• Respiratory infections

Adult Dosage

• Dose depends on infection severity.
• Usually taken for 10–14 days.
• Follow doctor’s prescription strictly.

Children Dosage

• Not recommended under 2 months of age.
• Dose decided by the doctor.

How to Take

• Swallow with plenty of water.
• Can be taken with or without food.
• Take doses at evenly spaced times.

Avoid using Septran DS Tablet if you:

• Are allergic to sulfonamides or trimethoprim.
• Have severe liver disease.
