Talk to Ent Specialist on Fragrance Sensitivity

person-avatar

Asking For Self, Male, 28 Years old, Australia

Asslam u Alilkim I’m very sensitive to artificial scents like perfumes, air fresheners, and cleaning products. I feel a strange discomfort in my head that makes it hard to focus or be in that space where any of artificial fragrances are exposed. This issue affects me at work, in classrooms, and even in cars having air fresheners. The discomfort goes for about an hour after leaving the area. Has anyone experienced this or found a way to manage it? I’d appreciate any advice or suggestions from those who’ve dealt with something similar. Thankyou

I understand your advice to avoid exposure to scents, infect i always try to do it. But I find it nearly impossible to completely avoid them in daily life. Scented products like air fresheners, body sprays, and diffusers are commonly used in workplaces, and even by friends. I seem to be sensitive or allergic to almost anything with a scent, from hand wash to dish soap. Given how prevalent these scents are, I’m struggling to manage this issue without isolating myself or limiting my activities. Is there any other solution besides avoidance that could help?
