Asking For Father, Male 60, gujranwala
my father got a light scratch on leg by a stray cat staying outside our home and the wound was lightly bleeding what are precautions about any vaccine if required and where to get them in gujranwala.
need wound wash, vaccination for tetanus and rabies
Seems type 2 exposure. Wash the wound Thoroughly. Get these vaccinations done as early as possible. Rabies at day 0 3 7 14. add day 28 if he is immunocomprised(Diabetic or HIV). Tetnus Once.
If the Wound is deep He must get Rabies immunoglobulins too only once. For that i need to see the wound.
Aoa.Get them from a good pharmacy. Also get Antitetanus vaccine preferred if get it in 24 hours.
Just go to any clinic or nearby hospital to get tetanus
Make sure to clean the wound with Dettol and put a bandage or band aid on it.
WHO classifies a scratch that breaks the skin (even if it's just a minor scratch with bleeding) as a category I or II exposure to rabies, which requires immediate medical attention.
Wash the wound: Flush the scratch
thoroughly with soap and running water for at least 15 minutes. This is the most effective way to reduce the viral load. Disinfect: Apply an antiseptic like Povidone-iodine (Pyodine), alcohol, or any spirit to the area after washing.
Go to the DHQ Hospital Emergency first, as they deal with the highest volume of animal bite cases and are most likely to have the " Essen schedule" vaccines and RIG in stock.
Bhatti hospital, Cavalry hospital or Medcare international have vaccine stocked also.
tetanus & rabies vaccination may be required. best not to ignore.
do explore 10 day rule for animal bite as well. if after 10 days of bite the animal is still around and fine, means it did not have rabies and rest of doses maybe stopped also.
HOMEOPATHIC MEDICINE FOR RABIES ARE WORK LIKE VACCINATION.
IF THE WOUND IS DEEP WASH WITH ANTISEPTIC.
MY ONLINE CONSULTATION CHARGES ARE 100 RS.
I WILL SEE THE WOUND FIRST THEN I WILL GUIDE YOU ACCORDINGLY.
no need for rabies may be tetanus can be given depending on wound situations
