Last night, a cat jumped on me, and its claw hit my back, resulting in a bruise. I would appreciate your advice on how to best manage this injury and whether any further steps are needed. (note:: the cat is not our pet.)

if not vaccinated(tetanus )in last 5 yrs...get vaccinated and apply brufen gel over the the bruise....

If only a bruise, and no bleeding then no worries. You are all fine. Only wash with soap and keep monitor for any fever or bodyaches. In that case need a short course of Antibiotic. Tab: Co-Amoxiclav 625 mg three times a day for 5 days. Contact for further details.
