Talk to General Physician on Chronic Itching

So I’ve pretty much had this itch on the occipital region of my scalp and pre auricular region since last 2-3 years for which I’ve been using hydrocotisone cream, stipirox, hivate lotion but they only provide temporary relief. I just want a diagnosis and treatment of the cause ‘coz its annoying and the itching has become habitual and now i’m itching even when I’m sleeping. Please help..... PS I’m a fresh medical graduate who has just finished his House Job so questioning in medical terminology is most welcome
