Asking For Father, Male 61, Islamabad
patient had his MRI done 3 days back ,he has back pain and on leg pain and in reports there is mention AT L5-S1 small central disc protrusion is seen causing narrowing of thecal sac and compression of bilateral adjacent nerve root . so can you tell if he need surgery of that or medication will be enough thanku.

depending on his symptoms ,if there is severe backache or pain radiating to the leg you may go for surgery, if minor symptoms then surgery is not required. Generally people in their 60's have a slight disc bulge bur do not require any surgery
