DIARRHEA OR COVID

Question

my mother, 47 years of age, having no comorbs other than hypothyroidism has developed diarrhea this morning. she's feeling weak because of that. she went out some 2 days back for groceries ( used mask and sensitizer) she's not having any respiratory or fever. do i need to worry? what are the characteristics of COVID diarrhea. i am worried. help. it's urgent. what should i do?

Hello dear, Don't be panic just relax.
Diarrhoea is one of the manifestation of Corona virus disease but not the typical symptom. we can't say at initial period that it is because of Corona. so for this you just start some symptomatic treatment for other common causes of diarrhoea and meanwhile assess for other symptoms like high grade fever, bodyaches, cough then you may go for COVID test

Diarrhoea is not very common in COVID 19, you dont need to worry unless she develops fever or respiratory problems. Better to self isolate.

For diarrhoea use Enterogermina sachet once daily for 2 days.
Take plenty of fluids and keep hydrated.

yes diarrhoea can be in covid but if no fever than less likely . ors. tab entamezol fort bd and tab ciproxin 500mg bd for 3 days
