Asking for Husband, Male, 27 years old, Karachi
My husband has cough from last 3 months. We have consulted a doctor at NMC. He is done with chest x-ray , HRCT and pulmonary test. HRCT is cleared. Now Dr has given him antibiotics 3 times a day for a month. It's 625 mg. I'm bit concerned about it. The details are attached. We still didn't get the cause of cough

i guess you have all good reasons to be concerned.starting so many meds with no clear diagnosis is very strange
there should be clear indication for any prescribed medication and should only be prescribed if benefits outweigh risks. Coamoxiclav is broad spectrum abx and associated with severe side effects and there is no indication to use this medicine for 1 month.Looking at investigations all seem normal even PFTs are within normal parameters.
cough in young person with normal imaging and basic tests
usual caused are either asthma/post nasal drip/reflux/drugs as pointed out by Dr Zubair
lot of time even severe viral infection can result in post viral cough up to 3-4 months with no serious underlying problem .
more detailed history is needed to rule out risks of acid reflux etc i guess trial of omeprazole 40mg along with gaviscon for couple of wks is reasonable option.It may be good idea to monitor peak flow and maintain symptoms diary you can down load asthma symptoms diary from google that give some idea if this could be linked to possible reversible airway disease.
