severe vomting and lose motion from last two flagel but no effect. seen doctor and recieved Drip and Mercip injection and vomting gone but watring lose motion are still there .should i wait or change medicine.

Please ensure that you drink one glass of ORS after every loose motion / diarrhoea. Soft diet like rice / Khichri / Youghurt / Bananans will help. If it does not improve in 24 hours, please visit a Doctor for further assessment.

Gastroenteritis does not warrant any immediate antibiotic use! The main stay of treatment is rehydration for which you should take ORS as much as u can. Small sips and frequent small meals will help. Usually the vomiting settles within 72 hours but diarrhea can take upto 5 days. Only do a stool culture if diarhea persists after a week
