Talk to General Physician on Got Scratch From Unvaccinated Puppy
Asking for Brother, Male, 6 years old, Chour Harpal, Misrial Road, Rawalpindi
Assalam-o-Alaikum We got a newborn puppy from the street, and now the puppy is 2 months old. Today, my brother got a small scratch on his finger, and a little blood came out. We washed it with water and soap and applied pyodine. Should we be worried about rabies and start rabies post-exposure treatment? or any kind of other infection. The puppy is healthy and does not show any rabid symptoms or illness and puppy won't have any contact with any street animal till we bring it home and won't have any contact with other street dogs or cats which can potentially spread this virus, and my brother got scratched while playing with it. Should we be concerned? Please reply; I would be very thankful.

Was there any kind of bleeding from the scratch site? Any kind of soreness or redness.

Yes a little bit of bleeding after the scratch and than we clean it with water and apply pyodine

Your your satisfaction and being on safe side kindly visit nearest RHC or BHU during office hours to consult a doctor and the anti rabies are mostly there if needed.
Otherwise account to my opinion there no need of it.

And puppy is not vaccinated we got it from street when it was newborn. But puppy is healthy eating and drinking well without any sign of rabid behaviour and my brother was plAying with it so he got a scratch and there is no contact of puppy with any other cat, dog especially streets ones. and we will inshallah do vaccination of puppy next month. Should we need to do vaccination for my brother.

Thanks a lot for your guidance we will visit BHU tomorrow and will be on safe side and I will monitor the puppy and his behaviour for 10-15 days for any kind of rabid symptoms

get an ats shot and 8f not bitten by dog no need of antirabies .

Is the dermis is involve or just epidermis is involve?there is noo need to be worry and its not bad for him., Rabies’s vaccine is also have side effects so its better to avoid it in minnor injury
