My mother's Hb is 9.6 is it safe if we for transfusion.

no need for transfusion...Most probably she ll have iron deficiency anemia ...or do tell if any other ongoing medical issue..However 9.6 Hb is still fine ..Do add fruits,fruit juices & green veges in her diet. Moreover, give her a multivitamin surbex Z is fine .tolerable once daily with food.

the reason for low Hb needs to be determined before treatment can be suggested
according to latest guidelines, below 7 should be transfused. For now, improve the diet first and give iron supplements. Plus we need the complete history to rule out the exact cause and treat accordingly
