I'm taking the following medicines for essential hypertension since 2008. Zestril 20mg & Norvasc 10mg. Now I'm having frequent swelling on lips only, which doesn't go away with antihistamine like Desloratadine 5mg daily. I have stopped taking Zestril & swelling has gone. It has never happened before & I'm taking Zestril for Ten years, why now? It is a mild form of angioedema? (there is no swelling of tongue) Should I switch to sartans? Which sartan doesn't cause swelling of lips?
plz consult any cardiologist
u can switch to valsartan why u are taking anti hypertensive medication for so long time have check the primary causes

I have High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, Insulin Resistance. I take Rosuvastatin 10mg daily for high cholesterol. My cholesterol levels aren't very high & remains in normal range with Rosuvastatin.
I've come to know that Statins increases the chances of diabetes but Pitavastatin is not like other statins & doesn't affect insulin sensitivity.
As I'm already insulin resistant, Pitavstatin shouldn't be more suitable in my case?
Thanks
