hi
interesting discussion.I must say insomnia(sleep issues ) is a very common problem in the general public. and causes could be many varying from medicines, to physical factors like pain distress to psychological issues and some time purely a result of our routine.you have questioned about medication as potential cause without mentioning name of drugs.there are 4/5 classes of blood pressure medication few of them have potential side effects like insomnia /sleep loss like b blocker cause nightmare and can cause sleep issues similarly alpha-blocker like doxazocin, ACEI like ramipril in some cases can cause sleep issues .before this could be all blamed to medication important to rule out other potential stressors

this is a like to patient information leaflet that gives some simple measures to improve quality of sleep this is called sleep hygiene before you start messing with meds worth looking on these lines and then medication can be altered

Some bp medicines cause sleep problems
so do reconsult your doctor for bp meds.
she should avoid tea and coffee intake during evening and night time.
Also she can do little breathing excercise before going to bed.
Try to sleep in quiet,,dark and peaceful enviroment.
And still after laying for 30 mins she is unable to sleep she should get up and do some relaxing activity in dim light rather than worrying about sleep.

Salaam. Cause... Most probably anxiety /depression....
Things to avoid.. No tea. Coffee, TV after mughrab and specially after Esha
Things to do.. Daily walk for30/40 minutes, remain busy in work or gossips., prayers and reading Quran e pak., sleep at yours assigned time., if difficult to get to sleep, leave bed take few deep breath, look /remember good times or recite quran
.. Pleas also review BP medicine if it includes beta blocker like propranolol, atenolol etc
.. If no response, then consult nearest medical specialist or psychiatrist.
. May Allah bless her with good health. Ameen
