huge swelled area on the forehead growing rapidly within HISTORY : Large growing erythematous friable swelling of forehead with superficial crustation since 2.5 months with resistance to antibiotics . Differential diagnosis : ? Carbuncle , ? leishmaniasis , ? cell lymphoma .
GROSS DESCRIPTION : The specimen is received in 10 % buffered formalin in one container and fixed for 24 hours , labeled with the patient's name , medical record number and " Punch biopsy from forehead " . It consists of punch skin measuring 0.5 cm , entirely submitted in one cassette .
MICROSCOPIC DESCRIPTION : Sections show heavy dermal lymphoid infiltrate with prominent epidermotropism and increased eosinophils and plasma cells .
