I am an SLE patient with reduced saliva production. Some dentists say I also have stains on my teeth. Recently, i recovered from sinusitis and both the ends of my jaws felt stiff off and on. I don't know if wisdom teeth are involved. In addition to this, a dental filing has become loose. My face has also swelled with infection. Do let me know what could be the possible treatment. My neck also feels heavy and i feel some kind of irritated nerve at the back of my neck. The taste of food has also become different. What could be the possible treatment ? Also can i ever have a dental filling lasting for years with the reduced saliva ? My previous filings only lasted for 6 months maximum ?

1. after sinusitis attack, it is common to have stiffness in all facial muscles which will resolve itself after a few weeks. in case it does not then massage relaxant and painkiller combination may be required as well as massage or physiotherapy for the relief of pain
2. discoloration due to external stains can be managed with proper hygiene scaling and polishing. discoloration due to deep stains inside the enamel may require bleaching or veneers
3. feelings do not have any problem with lack of saliva. the natural enamel to which the material of filling is bonded to become sweet with reducing leafy flow for which you should regularly hydrate yourself with water on daily basis.
