Asking for Mother, Female, 54 years old, Lahore
Symptoms, 1. Loose motions 1 week ago & mild thakawat. Medications: She took Novidat 250mg twice a day for 2 days and third day she was fine. 2. Now from last 3 days she gets 99 fever after 6 to 8 hours or sometimes after 12 hours. Very mild irritation in Throat. Very very mild cough. No other symptoms. Got checked from a General Physician nearby my home. Medications Suggested: Caricef (250mg) twice a day with Panadol every 6 hours. Blood Oxygen level 98%. No problem in breathing. Covid PCR suggested by Doctor if cough persists or becomes higher. No xray suggested.
Question: Should we go for Xray or COVID PCR if the cough remains in control and if there is no problem in breathing? Also, which doctors to consult if PCR positive? Since there is a a lot pandemic in hospitals nowadays and my mother is resistant to hospitals. (Also cannot afford very very costly treatment).
no treatment is not costly if u go good doctor do CBC and COVID pcr
yup .covid pcr qnd cxr is go to option. do both one to screen for covid and other to check status of lung . also do crp quantitative . fbc.
caricef is better than novidat in old age as it leads to psychatric manifestation.
if covid is positive and she is stable treatment wnt change much.except one or two drugs to be added for sometime. u can share results and then we can discuss.
