Talk to General Physician on Pinworm Infection
Asking for Self, Female, 21 years old, Islamabad
I have had a pinworm infection for over 2 years. I have done courses of albendazole as well as mebendazole. However, I dont think i fully completed the course. I even took homeopathic medicines and nothing worked. I also keep a strict hygiene and keep everything clean. I cannot sleep because i feel the worms moving and it is very uncomfortable. Should i take a course of albendazole? If so, how and when should i take it?

Before your reply I had already taken 2 tablets of Zentel (albendazole). I took that on 5th June and have to take the second dose today. Should I only take the second dose (just two tablets)? Or should i now take albendazole for 7 days straight like you suggested? If i do that, wont i face an overdose of albendazole? I am very afraid of that.
