Talk to General Physician on Possible Coronavirus Cough And Fever Since 10 Days
Asking For Someone else, Mother, Female, 45 Years old, Karachi
My mother has a viral infection and it’s been 10 days and she’s not getting better. Her body Temperature is around 100C and she is having body pain, chest pain, runny nose, coughs and she can not eat anything hence the weekness. She is isolating herself and taking 2 Panadols three times, vitamins C and azithromycin 250mg 2 times. It’s been 4 days she’s on this antibiotics but not such difference. She had her thyroid removed so she’s on thyroxine and takes vitamins D and calcium daily. Kindly advise what can be done here.. if we need to get X-rays done. Her oxygen level is 98.

AOA! Yes you can get her X-ray chest, CBC , urine c/e , and her nasal swab test for corona PCR. In the mean time keep on giving her panadol, steam inhalation , saline gargles . Stop azithromycin on 5th day and the dose of azithromycin is only once daily not twice a day.
