Asking For Self, Female, 20 Years old, rawalpindi
Blood pressure is around 140/90-100 even after taking aldomet 3 times a day. Limiting salt intake. Increasing water intake. 37 weeks pregnant. Will this effect the baby’s growth? Dr appointment was on monday now have to go on monday again.
AOA! It’s ok. According to New guidelines this much BP is acceptable .How much Aldomet 3 times you are on 500mg tab or 250mg at a time ? You can wait for Monday it will not affect the baby. But if u have severe headache, blurry vision or some vomiting feeling then visit doctor at once . Otherwise this much BP without warning symptoms is fine. Thanks
Just keep record of BP . If readings get above 160/ 110 then you can increase the dose of Aldomet to 500 my 3 times a day. Otherwise keep the same dose. Or if nausea persist and headache start you can switch to 500 mg twice daily ( morning and evening dose) instead of 250 mg 3 times as it will slightly increase the dose which will not lower BP too much as lowering BP too much could harm the child due to less blood supply through placenta. Good that u don’t have proteins and hopefully no foot swelling too. Just relax and no need to rush to the doctor. Thanks

Thanks. My dr recommended 250 mg 2 tablets morning 1 evening and 2 at night now.

yes. the BP you have mentioned will affect baby and can get dangerous for you too, even immediately after delivery.
you should ideally talk to your doctor (gynae and medical team). i hope your delivery is planned at a proper large hospital rather than a clinic. you have not mentioned whether you take 250mg or 500mg aldomet.

Thanks. I’m taking 250 mg 3 times a day. Now my dr has increased it to 2 times morning 1 time evening and 2 times at night so 5 dozes a day.

I will let you know. Kindly tell if entamizole syrup is safe during pregnancy? Dr suggested i take entamizole DS thrice a day for 3 days due to upset stomach. I have this syrup on hand it doesnt say DS. Thanks

Most diarrhea’s settle within 2 days and don’t require antibiotics so early. Anyways if u have started try using only metronidazole instead of a combination medicine as in Entamazole. Thanks
