Asking For Father, Male 55, Karachi
My father developed headache around a week ago and after checking it came out to be 150/110. We consulted a doctor and he gave him nifedipine + valsartan, after taking that his BP became stable. He also ordered an ECG and I have uploaded the ECG picture, along with that he ordered an Echo too. I have attached the reports of echo. Can anyone please tell me what is the issue? The doctor is saying that he had a heart attack according to the echo report. I am a medical student and I'll be able to understand medical language. Thank you.
He had inf wall MI plz moniter his bp
Your father should undergo coronary angiography to identify any occlusive lesions in his coronary arteries. He already had inferior wall MI which was not severe enough to cause symptoms but we need to be careful for the future. Furthermore, in order to mitigate risk factors for heart disease following tests shoule be done.
- CBC, HbA1c, fasting blood glucose, fasting lipid profile, serum urea/creatinine , urine detailed report.
- Continue taking BP meds are prescribed.
- Follow up with these reports with my online consultation.
The echo report reveals a reasonably well performing heart. However a certain segment of inferior wall of the heart is sluggish in movements indicating its reduced blood supply at some point in time.Kindly get a Cardiac consult and angiography to confirm.
