Asking For Mother, Female 48, Gujranwala
my mother aged 48 has been suffering from Rheumatoid arthritis from past 12 yrs. Treatment is continuing for RA f, but from past 3 weeks she has frequent episodes of diarrhea, vomiting and abdominal pain. triggers were ladyfinger, black chana and daal etc. she avoided eating all of them even reduce intake of Roti/chawal. she has become more weak. Due to diarrhea she has reduced the dose of RA medicine due to which RA is flaring up. now what should we do for this. Also suggest doctor for this case in Gujranwala.

If she has RA she is at a risk of other auto-immune conditions as well. Kindly get her workup done for Celiac disease and IBS too. Anti-tissue transglutaminase antibodies should be done and restrict gluten in her diet. If she shows improvement after gluten restrictive diet then she most likely has Celiac disease along with RA.

dr please suggest a gluten free diet in simple words. and we can't afford expensive tests at the moment. what can we do if diarrhea occur again.. please suggest otc medicine for that.
