Doctor has advised to use secukinumab injection for the treatment of psoriasis. Patient is a 25 year girl with 7 years old psoriasis. Need expert opinion on it. Secukinumab is a good, safe and efficacious treatment for Skin psoriasis that doesn't respond to standard treatment. Slight increase risk of infection (stop if any signs of infection develop and seek medical help). injection site local reaction and allergic reactions can happen. Psoriasis is a long term problem so treatment is long term also. psoriasis can come back if treatment is discontinued. in a young female, use during pregnancy should be avoided as there is limited safety data. if planning family, please discuss with treating doctor in advance to review treatment. hope this helps.
