Talk to General Physician on Severe Vitamin D Deficiency

My niece had acute constipation so a doctor during the check found something odd as for vitamin d level to be checked, & reports came out at extremely low levels around 3.5, hence given her the dose of 2 lac IU by indrop D by mouth, further asked us to give to more doses of the same each after 5 days intervals, so is it safe to give her such high dose, please advise

Yes it's safe. But the cause of vitamin D deficiency needs to be evaluated. Why it's deficient? For how long she had constipation? If possible, please book an online appointment for a detailed advice.

After 2 weeks interval is fine. She can take drops 400 out daily alongwith it. That's more than enough

Sorry after 6 weeks is ok to repeat. Kindly double check with the doctor. Maybe it's 6 weeks, not 6 days
