Hi, I am a student at the College of William and Mary in the U.S. I am doing research in Sickle Cell Anemia and how the diagnosis/treatment/prognosis varies across different countries compared to the U.S. I was wondering if physicians who have encountered patients with Sickle Cell Anemia or have previously observed/treated Sickle Cell Anemia patients can answer a few questions for me. I will be giving you credit in my presentation. (I can also provide my email if that will be a better way of communication).
1. How often do you see patients with Sickle Cell Disease in your area of practice? 2. What are some of the most common complications you see with these patients? 3. Are all newborns in Pakistan screened for Sickle Cell Anemia? 4. Which symptoms occur most often in the patients you've seen? What are the common treatments for these symptoms? 5. How do you advise patients manage their symptoms in their day-to-day life? 6. What is your overall experience with Sickle Cell Disea
