I have a history of chronic GERD due to hiatal hernia and perennial allergic rhinitis. I am experiencing loud snoring during sleep for many years now. More recently I started facing a new condition that while falling asleep or during sleep it seems like my breathing stops and I wake up with breathlessness and racing heartbeat. Upon searching the symptoms I found leads to sleep apnea for which I further consulted an ENT specialist. The doctor conducted endoscopy of nose and diagnosed deviated nasal septum, turbinate hypertrophy and found uvula touching the tongue. He advised septoturbinoplasty + uvulectomy. However, I am also a patient of chronic and severe anxiety and panic attacks due to which I cannot withstand surgical procedures. I don't face issue to nasal congestion normally and breathing is fine during day. Only I get congestion when allergy is worsening and causing cold and infection.
