Assalam Walikum, My mother is experiencing sudden choking and shortness of breathing problem for quite sometime. This usually happens when she is eating something and/or during sleep. She has then to forcefully inhale the air and immediately drink water to get back to normal. Can you please guide us what precautions should we take and what treatment should we go for?
You should first consult neurologist or a physician with good neurologic assesment skills to evaluate her bulbar palsy or stroke.
