Assalam o alaikum all M a breast feeding mum of a 6mo baby and have severe throat pain eyes pain and light body pain n slight head ache.. no fever as yet... can i have antibiotics as i have heard antibiotic decrease milk supply... dr has prescribed me azthromycin tablets twice a day... 500 mg... milk supply low to nai ho jaygi? Ab mene call ki ha unko to she said cefixim le len aap daily 1 ...400 mg... iss se mere baity ko rashes ya stomach upset ya mje low milk supply to nai ho jaygi?

you should go with very low dose of azithromycin.. that will not cause suck kind of side effect .. azithromycin 250mg (2 tab first day then follow by one tab of azithromycin 250mg once a day for 4 days) and along with some symptomatic treatment.. feel free to contact if got any issue

Well both Azithromycin and CEFIXIME can be given to lactating mother's! however Azithromycin 500mg twice a day is high dose usually it's given once a day for 5 days in respiratory or throat infections!
Scientific data shows presence of Azithromycin in mothers milk, but no side effects documented in infants, And there is no available data to suggest presence of Cefixime in mothers milk.
however both can be given when baby is on mother feed with prescription of doctor!
