If you have recurrent pain due to gallstones no matter what\'s the size of stone. You need to get it removed. If you donot have any symptoms but the size is more than 15mm there is a higher risk of cancer in future so you need to get surgery done anyways

Sir a 17 mm stone should be operated even without symptoms as risk of developing problems in the future is high.
Medicines should not be tried to dissolve the stone as medicine side effects are bad and chance of succes is low.
