Asking for Someone Else, Mother, Female, 57 years old, Lahore
My mother (57 years old) has gallstones. She also has diabetes (on insulin) and high blood pressure.
Her gallbladder surgery has been delayed twice by a government hospital over the last 1.5 months because her blood pressure is too high. Recent readings: 160/140 and 163/83.
Current severe symptoms: She is now getting severe pain starting from her chest and going down to her stomach. This pain happens 3 to 4 times a day and is extremely intense.
My questions:
1. Does this severe chest-to-stomach pain mean her gallbladder is inflamed or is her pancreas affected? 2. Is it safe to wait another 2 weeks with this level of pain? Could her gallbladder rupture or become life-threatening? 3. Can a private hospital admit her, control her blood pressure quickly, and perform the surgery without waiting weeks?
Please guide urgently. We are very worried.
yes we must manage her on emergency basis. but it all depends on examination first. better she come for examination and admission in Saira memorial hospital Lahore. Dr Kamran Ali
