Asking for Self, Female, 28 years old, Nawabshah
Aoa respected dr, i m 18 weeks pregnant currently with a history of two miscarriages one was due to blighted ovum and other was chemical pregnancy. Now this is the third time. Can you please guide me that can I travel to karachi from Nawabshah at week 22? I had the last scan on week 17. And Alhamdullilah everything was normal. I am unable to contact my gynae for another month.

Yes you can , ensure safety and comfort.
Stay hydrated.
yes you can travel,
Ws .as you told that previous 2 miscarriages were one was due to blighted ovum and second was chemical pregnancy .so there is no role of travelling and risk of trauma associated with it .you can safely travel .just you have to continue your progesterone support ( tab duphastan 10mg two times a day ) and continue your iro and calcium suuport.
Walaikum assalam, considering you are currently 18 weeks pregnant with a history of two previous miscarriages—one due to blighted ovum and another chemical pregnancy—traveling at 22 weeks to Karachi is generally safe if your current pregnancy has shown no complications and your recent scan at 17 weeks was normal.
The second trimester (weeks 14 to 28) is often the safest period for travel during pregnancy because the risks of miscarriage and preterm labor are lower compared to the first and third trimesters. However, given your history of recurrent pregnancy loss, it is important to take extra precautions:
1. Consult your healthcare provider before travel if possible, but since you are unable to contact your gynecologist, proceed carefully.
2. Ensure you have access to medical facilities at your destination in case of emergencies.
3. Avoid stressful situations, stay well hydrated, and take frequent breaks during your journey to prevent blood clots—wearing compression stockings might help reduce the risk of deep vein thrombosis.
4. Monitor for any warning signs such as bleeding, severe abdominal pain, or contractions, and seek immediate medical attention if these occur.
5. Plan your travel with comfortable modes of transport and avoid excessive physical exertion.
To sum up, given your current stable condition and trimester, traveling at 22 weeks is permissible, but please continue to monitor your health closely and prioritize reaching out to your healthcare provider as soon as you can.
