Asking for Mother, Female, 55 years old, Lahore
Assalamu Alaikum, My mother suffered a brain hemorrhage two years ago due to a blood clot. Alhamdulillah, the clot was cleared, but she still has long-term side effects — such as memory loss, lack of awareness about using the washroom, and symptoms consistent with dementia.
We recently changed her brain medication (2–3 weeks ago) and have been giving it regularly, but unfortunately, we haven’t noticed any significant improvement.
Could you please guide us on what further steps we should take for her treatment and care?
Thank you.
wsalam , kindly share her MRI or CT reports and which medications she is taking currently. also any other conditions like hypertension, diabetes or anything else?
any recent MRI?
Medications for dementia help slow the cognitive decline but, unfortunately, don't reverse them. With that said, please share more information (reports and scans) so we can ascertain, first, whether this is truly dementia and, second, which type it is.
Thank you for asking. This needs a detail assessment. Kindly book an online appointment for further assistance.
