Talk to Neuro Physician on EEG TEST

Asking For Other, Male 10, Karachi

I wish to conduct an EEG TEST for my 10-year-old son, who has a diagnosis of mild IDD. One pediatric neurologist, Dr. RK, recommended an EEG with 10ml chloro hydrate, to be administered 20 minutes before the test. Another doctor suggested a sleep-deprived EEG, but the problem is that in the second scenario, my son cannot stay fully awake all night (we observe that he nods off and we have to shake him), shall we go for option 1, radiologist told me that sleep deprived better but child should awake whole night.

Basically , what the pediatric neurologist said you should go as advised, EEGs have different options in different clinical scenario, it may include Sleep deprived, sleep, hyperventilation etc , so it is better to again ask your primary doctor what seizure in question is best seen with which EEG procedure
