Asking For Sister, Female 17, Lahore
this issue of epilepsy from childhood and proper treatment starts from the previous 7 years. the frequency of seizures were too much but from previous 4 years there was no seizure but another too much things develop like aggression, abnormal body movements, repetition of one sentence again and again, and also all time walking very fast in sun heat, if anyone called her there is no response also now she forgets things these all problem majorly developed in previous four years. I have request all off you please suggest me some medicine and or is there any need to change the physician because on every check up I report these symptoms to physician he changed some drugs but there is no improvement.
Thank you for sharing this. I can understand your concern. You are doing the right thing by keeping track and asking for help.
The seizures seem under control, which is good. But these new changes like fast walking, repeating words, memory loss and not responding could mean something more than just epilepsy. Sometimes it can be due to side effects of medicine or another brain issue.
Brivaracetam and olanzapine both can affect mood and thinking. I would need to ask:
When did these behavior changes start?
Is she sleeping well?
Any fever or recent illness?
Has she had a brain scan in the last 1 or 2 years?
You are not alone in this. There are ways to help her. If you can answer these questions I will try to guide you better.

Thanks for your detailed reply. The behavioral issues are a known side effect of brivamark/brivacetam. You are taking both of these, but these have the same generic formula, so maybe you are taking too high a dose.
Regardless, the best step would be to transition to an antiseizure medication with a better mood profile like lamotrigine or carbamazepine.
Please don't do this on your own as this must be supervised.
Happy to talk to the patient and guide them through the transition.
If any question, feel free to ask.
Good luck!
