Asking for Someone Else, Mother, Female, 52 years old, Rahim Yar Khan
> Hello Doctor,
My mother(53years) has been experiencing frequent muscle cramps/spasms in her fingers and legs for a long time. She is taking Myonal, Nebix, Berrica and a Vitamin D tablet once a month, but the problem still occurs. She also does not eat a balanced diet.
Could this be due to a nutritional deficiency (such as magnesium, calcium, or vitamin B12)? Should she take any supplements or get any blood tests done? What would you recommend?
Thank you.

Muscle cramps in middle aged and older ladies is a common problem. They mostly respond to the old anti malarial drug Quinine Sulfate but because of side effects it should only be used under medical supervision. For consultation kindly refer through Marham
Do serum calcium and magnesium levels.
