Asking for Someone Else, Wife, Female, 22 years old, Shakargarh
My wife had an accident one month ago. Alhamdulillah, her overall condition is much better now, and the CT scan done at the time of the accident was normal. However, even after one month, her previous memories have not returned, and she remembers very little. I am quite worried about this, especially as we have a young daughter. Could you please advise whether there is still hope for memory recovery over time and what further steps or treatment you would recommend? 0303-7031492 Whatsapp Please
Retrograde amnesia after a head injury is common and sometimes difficult to get back the memories. Try taking her to visit the places that you used to frequent together. The area of brain affected is quite deep and the scans especially Ct scan would show normal and the damage is not visible. This is something you have to accept. Maybe with time her memory will come back but even then it is likely to remain patchy. By nature Pakistanis refuse to accept but that is what you have to do
Agreed with comment above. This is common and can take sometime to come back.
