Asking For Father, Male 61, Karachi
My father is a brain hemorrhage patient, and it's been over 5 years since the incident. In November last year, he had multiple minor strokes at home, which we realized later. Afterwards, he lost bladder control and had a catheter placed at home, but it was inserted incorrectly, which worsened his condition. We took him to the hospital, and doctors treated him and said he would need a permanent catheter.
About 8 months later, as his condition improved, we had the catheter removed. Since then, he’s been unstable — with daily high fever (103–104°F) at the same time every day. A neurologist said his blood pressure isn’t stable and suspected a UTI due to diabetes. He prescribed medicine and tests. Most results were normal, but sugar and urine showed some issues.
Currently, he’s very unwell — with ongoing high fever, vomiting since morning (even water), and extreme drowsiness. We need to know which specialist to consult now who can properly diagnose and treat him.
Aoa..Get your father assessed in medical emergency of any good hospital and they will involve respective speciality after assessment themselves
salam
he need multi disciplinary management. please take to a nearby hospital. both neurologist and medical specialist will be involved. online consultation would not be helpful in this case . Once he is stable, then followup with neurologist
Take him to a tertiary care set up immediately.
He needs a multidisciplinary approach involving internal medicine, neurology, endocrinology and possibly nephrology.
Good luck!
