Talk to Psychiatry on Mental Health/Personality Disorder
Asking for Mother, Female, 54 years old, Lahore
My mother has severe rage that has been gradually getting worse since the passing away of my father. During her rage episodes she says and does things that make her a danger to herself and those around her. The last episode resulted in self harm and biting me. I would like to request for an assessment of her mental health for her wellbeing and to ensure her safety and security and to understand what I can do to enhance her quality of life. She is not receptive to therapy or mental health professionals as she believes they are only for "pagal" people. This is due to a lack of education I believe and the stigma surrounding mental health in Pakistan.

Mental state examination required
She needs detailed assessment for proper treatment. you should get online consultation and start the treatment. And she will need medication first. when her symptoms improve then therapy will be started. There are different methods to give medication if the patient is not willing.
and She will accept the treatment process over time.

sometimes grief presents with rage, it seems to be hurtful for you...I can understand the stigma and lack of awareness around mental health.
what I suggest is just don't confront her or don't advise her while she is in that aggressive phase.
