I am shifting from olanzapine 5mg to aripiprazole 5mg and i am getting very nauseous from the beginning, my appetite is almost zero and now i have started vomiting can I take motilium?

Hi, thanks for reaching out. Can you please elaborate for how long har you been taking aripiprazole? Aripiprazole can cause nausea in some individuals. I am afraid that motilium isn’t gonna be the best option. If sedation isn’t a problem you can take Tab Gravinate to help yourself. It will be better.

Nausea, low appetite and vomiting can happen when changing from olanzapine to aripiprazole, especially in the first days/weeks. However, vomiting should not be ignored.

Please do not add Motilium or other medicines without discussing with your psychiatrist, as interactions and side effects need review. Stay hydrated and take medicine after food if advised.
