Asking For Self, Male 25, Faisalabad
I have social anxiety since my childhood. I try hard to overcome. but I feel chest tightness even mild shortness of breath like 1000 times a day for overthinking or going outside. I feel like my words are just stuck in my throat sometimes and even get sweaty when meeting someone. I do not want to take and anti depressant which will make my mind numb. what can I do to atleast control physical symptoms
Anxiety symptoms start at an early age and tend to go on for a very long time. your fear of starting treatment is also an outcome of this anxiety, its called avoidance behavior. however it is always the client who decides what sort of treatment they prefer. Find a good psychiatrist near you and get educated about your condition and its possible treatments.

These are simple tips to help you feel less anxious in social situations. They can help, but they do not fully treat Social Anxiety Disorder.
Try to tell yourself: “Maybe it will go okay.”
Start with small things, like saying hello.
Take slow, deep breaths to calm yourself.
Look around and notice your surroundings.
Try not to avoid people or situations.
Use simple, easy sentences when talking.
Listen to the other person instead of worrying about yourself.
Cut down on tea, coffee, or energy drinks.
Don’t keep thinking about the conversation afterward.
Go for a walk or do some light exercise every day. Feel free to ask if you have more questions.
