Pain In Thumb And Nail Color Changes

Question

for last three months,there is pain in nail and now there is a bluish discoloration in the nail and extreme pain.can u suggest what\'s wrong and how to proceed?

If nail is purple. There can be multiple problems

. Blood supply to thumb can be compromised.This is usually in multiple finger but can also be in only one.

Other problem can be bleeding under the nail.which can be due to previous injury to nail. It is called hematoma.

3rd reason can be rarely present which is melanoma under the nail. Melanoma is skin cancer..

4. It can be just a pigment under nail.

Question is if discoloration is increasing. If it is really blue or black. If multiple.nails are effected??

Please get evaluated by dermatologist who can quickly examine and decide if biopsy is required or if it is typical of any of diseases above and just need observation

I am really sorry to hear about this , pain in nauls with bluish discolouration can have very differential diseases , need to see the picture of hands and need to know her pervious diseases and medication.
