Asking for Self, Female, 29 years old, Lahore
I developed RA 1 & half month after birth of my baby boy via c section, no family history. I have been taking methotrexate (now on 22.5mg weekly) , HCQ and prednisolone(5mg daily). But after having this much increased dose of medicine i am still having issues in doing my simple household chores, i still have morning stiffness issue , swelling in fingers & wrist and pains, i dont know why my treatment is still not affective and my symptoms are not getting controlled. Kindly suggest me some other treatment option for my issue. Regards

Hello there, Thanks for the detailed post.
how long you have been taking the methoteraxte for now? and how long you are on prednisolone as well? normally these treatments can take weeks before you start to feel better, however you would need monitoring bloods during this treatment, i am hoping you are under the care of a goof Rheumatolgist at the moment who is taking caring of you? this is the right treatment if the diagnosis was done correctly with bloods and Xrays. you can call marham call centre , they will be able to book you with one of the best doctors in lahore for further advice and treatment.

I am on these drugs since 4 mnths, and consulting one of best rheumatologist in lhr dr sumaira(national hosp, dha). Also my blood tests are regularly done for monitoring, i also underwent solumedrol drips for three weeks, bt they provided a temporary relief.

Thanks for reply, Dr Sumaira is very good and i know her, you are in good hands, you are taking the medications for sometime now and you should get the relief by now, i would suggest if you no better then you must consult Dr Sumaira for the follow up .
