MRI SACROILIAC JOINT WITH & WITHOUT CONTRAST
TECHNIQUE: Multiplanar, multisequential images were acquired through both sacroiliac joints with and without IV contrast.
CLINICAL INDICATION:
low back pain History of fall
FINDINGS:
Subtle abnormal STIR hyperintense signals are noted inferiorly along the iliac aspect of right sacroiliac joint, with mild postcontrast enhancement
Subtle focal STIR hyperintense signals are noted inferiorly along the sacral aspect of left sacroiliac joint.
Both sacroiliac joints appear symmetric.
Joint spaces appear normal bilaterally.
There is no evidence of any joint effusion on either side.
No evidence of mass lesion noted along sacroiliac joint.
No evidence of soft tissue abnormality noted.
Visualized bones show no evidence of marrow replacement.
IMPRESSION:

Focal hyperinse signals may be due to trauma or localized infection. please visit nearest orthopedic surgeon for clinical examination and some investigation which will help in diagnosis.

Sacro-iliac joint pain with above findings normally respond to anti inflammatory medications with Physio and life style modifications. If she has symptoms in other joints, these findings warrant a Rheumatology review and investigations. This is is usually the first presentation to a spectrum.
